KIDS LOVE THIS NINJA CIRCLE WARM UP
There can’t be a good workout without a good warm up. If you don’t warm up, not only will you get less out of training, but you will probably get yourself injured.
Warming up, however, is not nearly as exciting as the main chunk of training, otherwise known as the workout. If you’re trying to get your kids into martial arts, anything that isn’t fun is going to get boring fast.
This is why our very own Jason Lee, the Nak Muay Ninja, has come up with a fun way to warm up. In this video, he uses a basic reaction drill with a pool noodle for a fun warm up. If you do not have a pool noodle, you can use a jacket, shirt, pants, etc. as a replacement.

The beauty of martial arts is that it is not simply a fun activity, but also one that shapes the life of the practitioner.
Most kids, like adults, get into it for fun, but what they get out of it is character, discipline, humility, resilience, and many more traits.

DEFEND THE PUSH & CHOKE
Although it is uncomfortable to admit, it is fairly likely that kids will be bullied. But what this provides is an opportunity to learn about self-defense.
In almost all street fights, you will notice the push. The push can often escalate an argument into a street fight. The choke is another common technique.
Luckily, the defense to the choke and push is fairly simple and can help you avoid an altercation or can create space for you to run away. If you want to see how it’s done, check out Jason Lee’s demonstration in the video below:
